The biggest hint I can give you is that 68% of Americans have a driver's license and 32% do not- Fine But as a p enger you would be a fool to ride in any vehicle be it public or private that was not insured If you were a bicyclist or a pedestrian and you got hit by a car you would personally benefit because the your state required the driver of that vehicle to be insured. and if the the driver of that vehicle did not have insurance I am sure that you and / or your medical insurance company would go after the driver of that vehicle in an attempt to recoup the costs of treating your injuries
- i know one thing: health insurance companies, just like auto insurance companies are not owned by you or me or the govt. they are private businesses that offer a service. the service is: pay us a monthly fee and we will share the risk of medical costs with you. you have no more right to their service than you have the right to force someone to become a doctor to treat you

- The difference is, 2 / 3rds of the people drive, with or without licenses. There's nothing to stop anyone from driving a vehicle until they are caught! Some people have driven for years and have never been stopped, others, can not get out of their drive - ways without being stopped by the Police! If you own nothing, how much can the other guy sue you for? So, why bother! The responsible person, who DOES have property and ets, would take a BIG chance on NOT having insurance! SO! even if they drive for years and years without incident, there's always that feeling in the back of their minds - WHAT IF? So they cover their s and get the insurance! Health insurance is a different ball of wax! EVERYBODY, some time duing their life - time WILL get sick or have an accident! You need Health insurance from the day you were born! You do not need to p a test in order to get it, IF you get it early enough! But, just like a car, your health has to have maintenance. Early detection is the best way to prevent a disaster. I think the difference between the two is, driving, you could very well kill yourselves AND others, with or without insurance, Whether you have or have not Health insurance, the only life you will loose, is your own!
